Welcome to the Counselors Corner!

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Davenport High School Counseling Program is to advocate for students and facilitate an environment and atmosphere that supports high achievement and positive growth for all students. My mission is to provide a comprehensive school counseling program for all students. My goal is to meet the academic, emotional/social, and career readiness needs of students.

Vision Statement:

All students of Davenport High School are empowered to strive for academic excellence, exhibit readiness to accomplish career goals, and attain positive personal/social skills needed to reach their fullest potential. Students will achieve short and long term goals, as well as successfully manage their lives as healthy, responsible, and  mindful citizens who respect themselves and others. Students will actively engage in pursuing growth academically, emotionally, and socially.  Students will be aware of social responsibilities, and possess communication skills needed to impact the community in which they live in for the better. Students will  develop skills that promote learning and well-being academically, emotionally, and socially. Students will use resources to help prepare them for the future. Students will maintain positive and supportive relationships through continuous self-reflection and development of their social, emotional and physical well-being.

Mrs. Lakey's Office Hours

Stop in availability for students throughout the day. Other times and appointments can be arranged through Mrs Lakey. Urgent visits can be arranged as needed also.

Students are always welcome to visit my office.  I will post office hours and contact information on my door.  If a student has a question or needs immediate help and I am not available, please see Mrs. Beth in the office.  She will reach me if I am teaching and ensure the student receives support.  Students may also leave a message under my office door, through email or in person. I will catch up with them throughout the day.  Student may email me and let me know they would like to meet. It is important that students do not miss out on  academic information during class time.  I will attempt to limit the amount of missed classtime, while ensuring the students have the support they need. Students will be seen immediately whenever possible.

Parents and guardians are always welcome to meet with me.  You are welcome to call or email me. I will return calls and emails throughout the school day.  I also encourage you to make appointments to ensure that I am available and able to devote undivided attention to you and your student.

  • All Oklahoma students will complete an Individual Career Academic Plan, often referred to as ICAP. Oklahoma's new high school graduation requirements will give students a personalized roadmap to use when navigating college or career plans after high school - one that ensures they are ready for their next steps and excited about the future. The ICAP includes the following components: academic/career planning, goal setting, college and career ready assessments and work-based learning.

Davenport High School students are using OK College Start to complete their ICAP requirement. Each student has an account and has assigned ICAP activities. Activities are assigned each year throughout high school and need to be completed by the end of each school year. This is an Oklahoma Graduation requirement that began with the Class of 2023.
